Deculture!

I just finished watching Macross Frontier last night. Took me a while, courtesy of my sister constantly interfering with my marathon. ( i'm gonna block that Friendster thing one day )
It's been a long time since i last saw a great anime! Macross Frontier quickly fills that empty spot for me. It is now my no.1 anime! ^^ The characters, world and mechas are so well designed and presented.

Some of you might quickly assume that Macross Frontier is just another "Gundam wannabe" anime at first glance... But please give it a chance and soon you'll notice that Macross Frontier is way different than Gundam and it has charms of its own. For instance, Macross Frontier focuses more on the characters, their relations, emotions etc. rather than throw you into a labyrinth of nonsense political blah blah blah situation. It is something that i wish Gundam would've done in the latest 00 series. The plot started of nice and harmonically and it gets more emotional as it heads to the great finale.

I recommend you check this anime out, if you havent seen it. I get inspired a lot by it. I hope there is a sequel soon! My favourite character of the story? Its Sheryl Nome. But i wont tell you why hehe ;P

Sheryl and Ranka joined my list! You can visit their blog. ( For Firefox user, please use Rikaichan plugin to read Japanese. )

SEE YOU NEXT DECULTURE! XD

Niiidaaaa~~~! <3 XD

Now that my test is finally over i finally got the chance to pick this baby up... (shud've done so 2 weeks ago) ta-daaaahh~~!! meet my new girlfriend, Nida! jk :P i wanted this figurine so bad since i first saw it on dannychoo site early this year... and now shes standing right before me haha ^^

this figure never fails to impress...at first i feel really recluctant to take it out of the box seeing how well and neat the packaging is. but what the hell...i have to take her out to make most of her, right?

she comes with tons of extra parts and she is fully cast-offable. just like any other figurine she is neatly wrapped in plastic seal...to fully remove it i had to separate her into pieces. then, i have to reassemble her again...which is quite a pain since its new, the parts seems so tight. i have to be extra careful and make sure that the "Strike Rouge Incident" doesnt happen again.

after i took her out of the box, then i started to see how detail Nida is...she is indeed amazing! ^^ her face looks so pretty and her uniform and equipment are so well crafted. you can stare at her all day long haha. along with the figurine there are also a character booklet and an audio drama cd...but i'll get to that later.

hmm but not all is perfect, right? Nida does has some issues of her own...the first one that bugs me the most is the rifle. somehow, its really hard to mount it on her hand! her uniform somehow gets in the way! >.< again, looking at the Strike Rouge reminds me never to try too hard...there is a manual but it doesnt help much.

but its not totally impossible though. the only way i can equip her rifle is when i put her alternate damage costume or strip her down to her lingeries ^^; the uniform is also hard to connect but after a while, the PVC kinda soften a little and the problem seems gone.

overall, im super-satisfied with this fig! ^^ its definitely worth the buy. i enjoy having her on my desk haha. and no, i didnt put her on her stand. i prefer her standing with her own two legs it seems natural. it can also avoid leaning. its great that the figure is stable enough to do so.

Oh, and sorry for the poor picture quality! ^^;

Final Exam....Oh No!

My final exam is drawing near....im sorry that i havent posted any artworks lately. it seems that education gets the best of me and my time.

Soon as i get these things over with, i'll get back to my good ol' pencil and paper and start drawing again. please bear with me for a little longer.

As you can see in the piccus above, i am studying in the dark. the closer i get to the final exam, the more power failure i encounter in the dorm. I believe studying in pitch black can improve your senses and reflexes. Sort of like ninja training, yes?

Good Games You Never Thought of Playing vol. 2

ZONE OF THE ENDERS : THE 2ND RUNNER

High Speed Robot Action. That four words sum up to ZoE 2 the 2nd Runner. This is a game made by Hideo Kojima and the legendary team behind the famous Metal Gear series.

In this game, you'll gain control Orbital Frame Jehuty, a giant mecha that moves at lightning fast-speed. The animation in this game is very fluid and the anime like visual effects are
jaw-dropping awesome! There are also wonderfully done anime cutscenes in between to narrate the story.

Mecha fans will definitely appreciate this title. Haha for people who just pick it up...i think controlling Jehuty will remind you of Freedom Gundam.

This game promises tons of fun. Sadly though, there are a bit issues that's holding it down. First off, the game is incredibly short. The storyline could last only 5-6 hours and and you can definitely finish it in one seating.

Still, the game make up to this by providing a VS. Mode that you can unlock after beating it once. in VS. Mode you can unlock and play as enemies Orbital Frame and duke it out against CPU or another player.

Another issue about the game is its horrible dialogue... Nothing is wrong with the voice acting i think, its just that the dialogues are so poorly written. When you hear a gruffy old man saying "Dingo, I love you. Come back." you know something is not right here =_=;

However, despite these minor flaws, Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner is still one of the best PS2 title out there. Mecha fans who havent try this should really pick this up.
